Search and rescue teams combed the Dragons Tooth area in Roanoke County for a missing 12 year old tonight.

The young girl was part of a group from a school for troubled youth in Farmville that had been hiking the Appalachian Trail for the past two weeks.
Counselors say she was being stubborn and stayed behind while the group went farther ahead to find a camping spot.

Comair may be flying again- The airline has reached a tentative contract agreement with its striking pilots.
Today's deal follows three days of talks with federal mediators.

The airline serves 95 cities and, until March, a half-dozen Comair Jets flew in and out of Roanoke every day.
That's when Comair's 13-hundred pilots walked out after talks broke down over work rules, retirement, job protection and pay.
A source close to negotiations says the union agreed to speedup the process and hopes to hold a vote within ten days.

23 million pounds of the new chip will be made there annually.

That's what happened in Bristol Connecticut this morning.
26 people were riding on the Zommerang ride at Lake Compounce park.. when it got stuck.
Firefighters had to use ladders to rescue the riders.... NO one was hurt.
The Zoomerang is a steel roller coater that goes through several loops as well as forward and backwards.
It got stuck after passing through an area where passengers usually get on and off the ride.
