The Virginia Supreme Court denied the County's request to look again at its April ruling in favor of the car dealer. In the decision, the court said Shelor did not have to pay a capital merchant's tax because it moved its inventory out of the area by tax day. Shelor says the moves were in protest of what it calls unfair high taxes. Options now for the county include adjusting the tax scale or getting the code changed by the General Assembly.
