Teams tonight are looking for a missing man in Roanoke County.

Police were led to the area off Route 3-11 to get a dog out of a locked car, but when police checked the license plates, they found the car belonged to a 50-year old Roanoke man missing since yesterday.
Police say they're concerned because the man is 300-pounds and several different medications were found inside his car.

Commissioners of the revenue across the state say refunds that used to take weeks seem to be taking months this year.

The U-S Department of Justice has approved the re-drawn House of Delegates district lines.
The General Assembly approved the redistricting plan back in April.

The city of Roanoke is considering a land swap and a two- million- dollar contribution to help the YMCA build a new home downtown.

Once the new building is complete, the city would get the old property, with the exception of the annex gymnasium.

State and local officials today cut the ribbon on a new boat ramp providing access to the James River.
The ramp will be part of a 30- acre state park that's being developed along the riverfront.

Over twenty years ago, a local farmer came up with the idea, so the melon could easily fit into the fridge.
In order to make this idea a reality farmers grew the melons in glass boxes, the fruit naturally takes the shape of its surrondings.
Four hundred square melons are being shipped to Tokyo and Osaka.

College life and bigtime college football are the next obstacles for former William Fleming football standout Jermaine Hardy. He graduated from Hargrave Military Academy a few weeks ago.

A few months ago, Uva was talking about big time budget cuts for athletics. My how things have changed. An anonymous donor gave 20 million dollars to the University's athletic program this week. It's the second largest single gift ever made to Virginia athletics.

Cheryl McClusky says she was getting her kids ready for school when she saw a raccoon in her house. The scurrying critter made a mess of things before police were called in. The raccoon led them on a wild chase throughout the house, however police finally apprehended the intruder. After snagging him, police sent him on his way, to the woods outside.
