Investigators are asking for the public's help in solving a 12-year-old Henry County murder case.

The Sheriff's Department identified the body recovered from Philpott Lake Monday as 38- year-old Ether Adean Smith.
Her body was found sealed in a barrel with two gun shots to the head.
Investigators say they have a few leads but no concrete suspects.

Roanoke Police are investigating two recent home invasions robberies that may be related.

The most recent occurred early this morning in the 500 block of 15th street.
Residents told police that two men wearing masks and carrying guns kicked in the front door, and took a small amount of money.
On Sunday, a similar crime occurred in the 34- hundred block of Courtland Road, Northwest
In that case, the resident and his girlfriend were watching television when the door was kicked in. Three men entered the home, and one removed cash from the victim's pocket before striking him in the head.

In both cases, police say the robbers used a handgun, and a long gun. They say they're making progress with the investigation.

A "boil water" order was lifted for the Prices Fork area shortly before three today. For some two-weeks about 267-customers had to boil water before using it to drink, cook or brush their teeth. Tests revealed raw well water contained fecal coliform bacteria. But the Public Service Authority says recent samples show NO bacteria. Tonight officials meet with residents to talk about finding a source of water OTHER than the current well system.

A deputy sheriff pulled over- to find a woman on a bridge - ready to commit suicide. But as she made a break to jump - Deputy Sheriff Robert Burkhead followed - he grabbed her shirt just in time - then was ALMOST pulled over with her. As Burkhead started to go over - he caught the concrete railing with his left hand - and held on - literally - for dear life.

The woman fell out of Burkhead's grasp and plunged 45-feet into the river below. ANOTHER police officer then ran down the riverbank - jumped in and saved her.
