(( In the first two weeks on the statewide campaign trail, Republicans Jay Katzen and Jerry Kilgore are NOT even a blip on most Virginians' radar screens.
Katzen is completely unknown to 73 percent of those polled in our News 7/Mason-Dixon poll.
58 percent don't recognize Jerry Kilgore.
The Democratic ticket benefits a little from the fact that it had a primary, which meant TV ads.
So Tim Kaine and Donald McEachin have a little more traction in the eyes of voters.
But more importantly, where do they stand in the poll?
In the Lieutenant Governor's race, Richmond Mayor Tim Kaine has 38 percent support.
Warrenton Delegate Jay Katzen has 27 percent.
But a full 35 percent of voters are undecided in the middle of June.
In the race for Attorney General, former public safety secretary Jerry Kilgore has 34 percent support.
Henrico County Delegate Donald McEachin is at 30 percent.
But 36 percent of those polled are undecided.
One political analyst says the Democrats can expect a summer on the defensive.

Tim Kaine is a Catholic, who's morally opposed to the death penalty, but supports gay marriage.
If he wants to go on the offense, he can try to paint Jay Katzen out of the mainstream on the right.

((BOB HOLSWORTH/VCU POLITICAL ANALYST: JAY KATZEN'S BEEN A SUPPORTER OF CERTAIN FORMERS OF SCHOOL CHOICE, A SUPPORTER OF VOUCHERS IN CERTAIN WAYS. KAINE'S BASICALLY GOING TO ARGUE THAT THAT'S THE WAY TO RUIN THE PUBLIC SCHOOLS.))
[runs= 11 ]

Holsworth says Jerry Kilgore's picked some winning issues with ethics reform and domestic violence protections.
But, he says, Donald McEachin is a smart candidate who appears ready to retool his primary campaign focus on gun safety for a more mainstream message.
The poll tells us he needs to broaden his appeal to white voters in Virginia to win.
