Publishers Clearing House has long been criticized for its mailings that
used phrases like guaranteed winner, and not making it clear enough
that no purchase was necessary to enter.
It also came under fire for marketing practices many say targeted older

A Franklin County teen charged with capital murder appeared in court today, alone.

19-year-old James Gibson is charged with stabbing and killing his mother and cousin with a large army knife.
Standing alone today, he was arraigned on two counts of capital murder.
Judge Sarah Rice told Gibson an attorney will be appointed to his case within the next two days.
Autopsy reports revealed that both Gibson's mother and cousin died from multiple cut and stab wounds.
Authorities have not yet determined his motive. Gibson says he quote, "just snapped."

Less than a week after settling a three month strike, Comair says it will resume Roanoke service.

On July 17th, at ten in the morning Comair flights to and from Cincinnati will resume.
September 1st, the FOUR-pm flights will return.
October first, late and early flights resume.
And November first, Comair's 8 p.m. flights will begin again.

"Churchill the Whale" is entangled in a fishing line off of Cape Cod-
The 50 foot long- 50-ton whale has the plastic line embedded deep in its upper jaw.
Tonight some good news... scientists have reached the whale and are assessing its condition.
Scientists want to be able to free the whale and treat it before it swims out of their range.
They say the line could cause an infection that could kill Churchill if not treated in time.
Churchill is a North Atlantic Right whale.. one of only about 300 left in the world.
