Congressional redistricting is next on the calendar for Virginia's busy General Assembly this year.
Lawmakers re-convene in Richmond next Monday for a special session.
(------------)
[VO-NAT]

Political analysts say the Republican majority is doing so well in Virginia that it only needs to "tinker around the edges" of the current Congressional districts.
In the Senate Republican plan, Independent Virgil Goode's 5th district would pick up Lynchburg, Amherst County, and all of Bedford.
Democrat Rick Boucher's 9th district would "head east" into Patrick County, and grab almost all of Western Roanoke County and Salem.
The House plan is more provocative.
Blacksburg and Northeast Montgomery County are sliced out of Boucher's 9th, and inserted into Republican Bob Goodlatte's 6th district.
Boucher then picks up the more rural and conservative Alleghany and Botetourt Counties.
