The search for evidence in the case of a missing Salem woman has led Roanoke city police to a van. Authorities are HOPING to speak with the man who apparently took the vehicle - on a test drive. Kate Weidaw has the latest in the search for 44- year- old Jennifer Barker.

Authorities say they found a warm cup of coffee on her mail truck. Barker had only been missing 90 minutes before an acquaintance called police saying it was unlike her to not show up for work. The Nashville guitar player recorded more than 75 albums of guitar instrumentals and sold over 75 million albums.


His guitar style influenced a generation of rock musicians.
He also played on hundreds of other hit records, including Elvis Presley's ``Heartbreak Hotel,'' ``Your Cheatin' Heart'' by Hank Williams and ``Wake Up Little Susie'' by the Everly Brothers.
He died at his home in Nashville. He was 77.

In the past a hysterectomy - or removal of the uterus- was the most common treatment. [tape 5 ] But now women can opt for a procedure known as uterine fibroid embolization. During the procedure, a catheter is placed into the artery that feeds the uterus --then tiny particles are injected.

Hundreds of new laws passed by the General Assembly go into effect today. And many of those - affect drivers - especially teenagers.

One that has teenagers and parents talking is the driving bill. As of today teens now have to wait six extra months to receive a learners permit and driver's license. Teens will now have to be 15 and a half for a permit and 16 and a half for a license. Drivers under 17 will only be allowed one passenger under 18 unless the passenger is a family member. And a new curfew has been set for drivers under the age of 18 - no driving between midnight and 4 a-m unless you're going to or from work or school. We'll have reaction from teens on the new rules this evening on News7 at 6.

And another new driving law goes into effect today... this one - affecting those charged with drinking and driving.
Starting today, judges and juries in Virginia WILL be informed when a drunken driving defendant refuses to take a breathalyzer test. But the law also instructs judges and juries not to consider their refusal as evidence of guilt.
Defense lawyers attack the law as being unfair and irrelevant as to whether a driver was truly intoxicated when pulled over.

21 year old Meghan Shanley was one of 26 women vying for the title.

Jake Cress' bizarre breed of furniture has won worldwide recognition... but he says he'll never leave Fincastle.

"Hickory Dickory Clock" recently claimed 13-thousand dollars in an auction at Sotheby's.
But Cress balks at calling what he does "art."

With his seafaring cap and ever-present pipe, Cress appears every bit the crusty, former sailor.
He spent five years in the Navy.
He also spent years acting, winning a small part in the movie "Sommersby" in 1993.
That's him on the left... as the town marshall.
But it's the other role that keeps calling. [NAT SOUND ABOUT SELF PORTRAIT CHAIR] Cress' traditional pieces are more popular with customers than his funny furniture... like his "self-portrait chair."

But even with his work commanding as much as 25-THOUSAND dollars from customers around the world ... there's one thing about Cress' self-portrait that won't change...
