The driver of the van says he doesn't remember much about the actual wreck. Jonathon Newcomb is the new youth minister at Virginia Heights Baptist Church. By phone today he told News 7 he's suffering from a concussion. Newcomb's wife was riding in the passenger seat. She was not seriously injured. Newcomb says they were both wearing seatbelts.

Authorities have still not found the woman who disappeared from the Roanoke Post Office last week, but they say they have found the car that she may have been in.
Officials found the borrowed Mitsubishi today in an apartment complex in the Hardy area of Franklin County, but they did not find 44-year-old Jennifer Barker.

The Starting Lineups for the major league all-star game were announced last night and not surprisingly the surprising Seattle Mariners have four starters on the American League team including Ichiro Suzuki. The other big note on the roster is that Cal Ripken Junior was able to overtake David Bell in the fan balloting and Ripken will start at third base. It's his 17th all-star game start and 19th overall appearance.

The for sale sign is still standing outside the Roanoke Express offices, but it may have a sold sticker plastered across it very soon. The current owners currently have legitimate offers to buy the team from two groups. One is local, one is not. If the New York's Peter Gillespie gets the team you'll have to drive to the Cumberland County Crown Coliseum in Fayetteville, North Carolina to see this team play.

News 7 sports learned that the Gillespie Group has until later this morning to reply to the latest counter offer from Express management. Also, last night it was officially decided that the Fayetteville Force of the Central hockey league is not coming back to the Cumberland Civic Center opening another possible crack for an Express move.

Roanoke College's basketball program is getting another boost from William Byrd high school. Last year Paul Barnard joined Page Moir's staff and now there's word that Mike McGuire, a boys and girls assistant coach for the Terriers last season is headed to Roanoke. McGuire, who was an honors grad from Roanoke College takes over for popular James Pennix, who will now work full-time in the college's admissions department.

Ashley Plantation's Chip Sullivan and Ryan Madore, a Roanoke College Grad, just missed winning yesterday's Mid-Atlantic Pro-Assistant Championship by a single stroke. The tandem shot a 65 at the Cattail Creek Country Club in Glenwood, Maryland.
