Hundreds of people - including several of those injured in a van accident over the weekend - gathered at Virginia Heights Baptist Church for a prayer service.

Members of the church and complete strangers came together last night to pray for those hurt in a weekend traffic accident. Approximately 14 church members were injured Sunday when their church van blew a tire and flipped several times, near Greensboro.

The group, made up of mostly teenagers, was returning from a church retreat in Myrtle Beach.

Ten of the injured were able to make it to last night's service where they and their families also received counseling from a mental health professional. Four other passengers remain hospitalized in North Carolina.... three are in critical condition.

The van's driver says he dosen't remember much about the accident. Jonathon Newcomb is the new youth minister at Virginia Heights Baptist Church.
He told News 7 by phone yesterday that he's suffering from a concussion. Newcomb's wife was riding in the passenger seat. She was not seriously injured. Newcomb says they were both wearing seatbelts.

In the future, officials say they will consider whether larger vehicles would better serve the city's needs.

A local company now has an international biotechnology firm as its owner -

Sybron Biochemcials says there's plenty of chemistry between it and its new owner, Denmark-based Novozymes.
Sybron is now part of a 600 million dollar a year business.
That means the company will have the money to grow things like "super" tomatoes, right out of its Salem facility.

Novozymes plans to expand the Salem facility, and hopes its presence will draw other biotechnology firms to the area.

Officials are still looking for a woman who disappeared from a Roanoke Post Office last week - but they have found the car that she MAY have been in.
Officials found the borrowed Mitsubishi yesterday in an apartment complex in the Hardy area of Franklin County, but they did not find 44-year-old Jennifer Barker.

Barker arrived for work early last Thursday. She parked her own car behind the main post office near the truck she drives for the Postal Service.
Authorities have been looking for Dewey Summerlin since then, because the Salem man has several times violated protective orders to stay away from Barker.
