After police cornered Summerlin he reportedly took his own life. Today Barker is talking about the week long abduction and says Summerlin was out for revenge after she filed at least 7 restraining orders against him for stalking her the last three years. Kate Weidaw sat down with Barker, who did not want her to go on camera because she is exhausted from the ordeal.

FOR WEEKS, CALIFORNIA CONGRESSMAN GARY CONDIT HAS DESCRIBED HIS RELATIONSHIP WITH MISSING INTERN, CHANDRA LEVY, AS JUST GOOD FRIENDS. BUT WASHINGTON, D.C. INVESTIGATORS SAY SOME ISSUES WERE STILL UNCLEAR. SO THEY MET WITH CONDIT FOR A THIRD TIME FRIDAY NIGHT.

(SOT: TERRANCE GAINER/ASSISTANT CHIEF, DC POLICE) - 18:56:35

"The congressman, with his attorney present, answered every question that we put to him. And so he clarified those issues that we needed some more information about, and we were comfortable with his answers."
POLICE ARE NOT CONFIRMING NOR DENYING NEWS REPORTS THAT CONDIT ADMITTED TO HAVING AN AFFAIR WITH LEVY ... DURING THE HOUR AND A HALF LONG MEETING. THE 24-YEAR OLD COLLEGE GRADUATE FROM MODESTO, CALIFORNIA HAS BEEN MISSING SINCE APRIL 30TH.
RECENTLY, LEVY'S AUNT TOLD THE WASHINGTON POST THAT THE TWO WERE INDEED HAVING AN AFFAIR. AND A FLIGHT ATTENDANT WHO CLAIMS SHE ALSO HAD AN AFFAIR WITH CONDIT, SAYS HE ASKED HER TO LIE ABOUT IT TO THE FBI.
HOWEVER, D.C. POLICE INSIST CONDIT IS NOT A SUSPECT IN THE CASE.

(SOT: TERRANCE GAINER) - 19:07;42

"We said weeks ago he wasn't a suspect. He wasn't a suspect midday yesterday. he wasn't a suspect during the interview. And he is not a suspect now. But we don't know what happened to Chandra Levy and we still have to figure that out."
OFFICIALS ALSO SHOT DOWN REPORTS THAT A GRAND JURY WOULD BEGIN HEARING EVIDENCE IN LEVY'S DISAPPEARANCE, AND THAT IT WOULD FOCUS ON CONDIT.

(SOT: GAINER) - 19:00:50

"There is no sitting grand jury. The congressman is not under investigation. And we wouldn't need the forced testimony because the congressman is cooperating with us."
