On Friday Jessika Lewis died from injuries she received in the van accident. Lewis along with 11 other teens and two adults were heading back to Roanoke from a trip to Myrtle Beach.

It was last Sunday when the youth group was on their way back from a trip to Myrtle Beach. One tire exploded causing the driver to lose control and the van to flip several times. Four of the 14 passengers were thrown from the vehicle. Only the two adults in the front seat were wearing seat belts.

Lightning is being blamed for a fire that burned a barn in Roanoke County to the ground.

Firefighters responded to the blaze at Feather Road around 8 this morning and found the barn engulfed in flames... At one point, the blaze was spreading along the ground to nearby woods - but firefighters were able to put out the flames before it reached the woods. Many area high schools are now fielding club lacrosse teams. The history of success of Roanoke College's program is probably one reason why the sport is growing in Southwest Virginia.

For five of those years Cave Spring senior Adam Shorter has been a participant.

Pilat staffs the camps with former Maroon all America players, who return to their alma matre to give back to the program.
15 states are represented and this year the camp has grown to 250 athletes.
