If Thomas is executed, it will be by lethal injection, but some states still use an electric chair.
In Georgia, a court will decide if "the chair" is cruel and unusual punishment.
Opponents argue it's a painful and horrific death- saying it burns the flesh and cooks the brain.
The state insists electricity causes "instantaneous unconsciousness" so there's no pain.

((For those not in to organized sports, how about the 2 week old Thoreson Fitness course. It's 150 meters long and involves running, hopping, jumping, climbing and hurdling. The goal is maintaining fitness for kids. ((:)) Steve Holt, the former owner of the Roanoke Wrath, the pro soccer team that recently folded, is now the East coast distributor of the Thoreson fitness course. ((STEVE MASON:)) ((:))
But for now, Rising Star campers are the gineapigs. A few of the campers broke in the obstacle course. ((:)) Then, Steam receiver Kenan McWorter gave it a try. His time, under a minute. ((:)) The Thoreson's course is also for adults and corporations who are interested in team building. Steve Mason, News 7 sports.))
