In Roanoke, the talk is about garbage, and Southwest residents who made a stink should not have to wait much longer for relief.

City officials say garbage piled up along Day, Elm, and Marshall Avenues should be picked up tomorrow.
The trash has been sitting there ever since the city made changes to its garbage pickup procedures.

A salmonella outbreak in the Lynchburg area has Health Officials trying to discover the source of the outbreak.
32 people have all reported getting sick between June 17th and June 30th.
Investigators believe most of the people contracted the illness from the same restaurant but can not pinpoint which one.
Signs of poisoning include diarrhea, fever, abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting.
Symptoms occur 6 to 12 hours after contamination.

Tony Stewart will be penalized, but when is another story. NASCAR is planning to punish Stewart for an outburst after Saturday night's Pepsi 400. He will most likely lose points and be fined. However, out of respect for Stewart's grandfather who passed away over the weekend, NASCAR is holding off on any announcement. The funeral was yesterday in Indiana.

She's expected to be out until November, but could be ready for the start of the upcoming season.

The idea of cutting service back to five days was intended to make up for two billion dollars in losses.
Lawmakers said that a decision to cut Saturday service could destroy the agency, while devastating the economy.
The plan was rejected today after drawing criticism from Congress and the public.
