Marine corps investigators are at the site of last night's fatal crash of a helicopter near Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.

Three Marines were killed, and two others were injured when their transport chopper went down in the New River.
The pilot and co- pilot survived the crash, and are both in stable condition.
The helicopter was practicing night landings when it crashed.
The Sea Knight model has been involved in other deadly crashes recently.
The Osprey aircraft was supposed to replace it, but THAT model has also been involved in fatal accidents.

Michael Bates reportedly will be returning kicks for the Washington Redskins this year. The Washington Post and E-S-P-N say Bates has agreed to a two-year contract with the Redskins. The Carolina Panthers allowed Bates to become a free agent this spring, despite five straight Pro- Bowl appearances.

He's the latest special teams player to be signed by Washington this year.
He joins punter Bryan Barker, kicker Brett Conway, and punt returner Winston October.
