County Leaders confirmed today K-B Toys wants to open a distribution center at the old e-toys facility in Blairs.

The company already owns most of what is left of e-toys.
K-B recently acquired the e-toys website and all its assets including inventory.
County officials say it only makes sense for K-B to want the old e-toys distribution center.

Henry County Sheriff's Deputies are searching for a Nelson County man believed to be at the bottom of Philpott lake.
Divers continue to concentrate their efforts near Union Bridge.
That's where they located the body of a missing Martinsville woman four weeks ago.
Investigators still have no suspects in that case but have questioned a known acquaintance of Ether Adean Smith.
Divers plan to head back into the water tomorrow.

A Lynchburg daycare center heavily damaged by fire yesterday hopes to re-open in temporary quarters by the end of the week.

The fire at the Kare Around the Klock center was reported around 6 Tuesday morning.
The center had not yet opened and no one was inside.
The owner of the center says it will be at least three months before the building can be renovated.
He hopes to secure a temporary site within the next couple of days.

An investigation is underway into why a Bedford County jail inmate died last night.
38- year- old Ronald Overstreet Junior was serving a 15- day sentence for possession of marijuana in the Bedford Adult Detention Center.
He was found unresponsive in his cell yesterday and was later taken to Lynchburg General Hospital where he died.


Blue Ridge Regional Jail authorities say there was no evidence of foul play but an autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death.

Alexander Hudson was 14 when he was arrested for the murder and robbery of a Rocky Mount man.
Police say he and two friends strangled the 61-year-old man with a boot lace and stole 6-thousand dollars.
Hudson's attorneys asked the judge to dismiss the case.
They say he was denied a speedy trial because he was held in jail 8 hours too long.
Judge William Alexander said defense attorneys agreed to the trial date ... and would have to live with it.

During the second half of the race Wayne Mabe of Pulaski and his flying buddy David Stowers crashed the party in their gas powered parachutes. The aircraft weigh between 250 and 350 pounds empty and can reach speeds of 35 miles an hour. Their horsepower can't rival the Late Model stocks on the track. The most powerful aircraft ran on 56 horsepower. (------------) The chutes fly out of Loving Field in Pulaski. If you want one - they run about $12 thousand dollars new.
