While some people did not want any of the stations to close, city council members agreed with the chief that it's a good idea for the City to cooperate with the County to help improve services for everyone. While the plan calls for a new station in Clearbrook... it combines others. Fire stations one and three would combine. So would stations five and nine.
The plan would cost nearly 9 million dollars. Fire officials say the changes would equip facilities for women, allow room for bigger emergency vehicles and allow a better response time for emergencies.

The whale, which has been in captivity most of its life, appears addicted to mankind. His relunctance to leave means he will soon have to be moved again.
Next month, a salmon farm will be installed next to his pen. The waste produced there would prove hazardous to Keiko's health.
