Friends and family of Roanoke native Julia Cole held a candlelight vigil in her memory last night. Cole was stabbed to death on her way to work at a hospital near Atlanta last week. Police suspect her estranged boyfriend, 34-year-old Fred Pugh, is responsible for the attack.

Authorities say a three-year-old boy killed in a car accident near Rocky Mount Tuesday should have been in a car seat.
Police say Tyriek (Ty-REEK) Hill was riding unrestrained in the front seat when he was killed in the crash. His father, who was driving, is in critical condition.
Three children in the other car involved were also injured - police say they were not wearing seat belts either.
