The problem, according to the Slades, is a neighbor whose C-B radio traffic overrides electrical devices in their home.

The F-C-C now allows local governments to enforce the regulations for citizens band radios.. but whether the city can afford to do the federal government's job is another question.

Clement said he decided this morning NOT to run for re-election.
Although he enjoyed campaigning, Clement said he did not look forward to returning to Richmond if re-elected.

A monument to 17 people killed in the terrorist bombing of the U-S-S Cole will be dedicated at the Norfolk Naval Station this fall.

Pittsylvania County native Timothy Saunders was among those killed in the blast.

The Cole is being repaired in Mississippi and is expected to return to Norfolk next spring.
The ship's crew came up with the idea for the

Two people are dead following in a single-engine plan crash in western Virginia today.
State Police say a flight instructor from Rockingham County and his Harrisonburg student died when their plane crashed shortly before 4 p-m near the Massanutten Resort.
A state police spokewoman says it was unclear who had control of the plane when it hit an oak tree and slid to the ground in a man's back yard.

Last night, Washington sources told News 7 sports, that in addition to working out Danny Kanell yesterday that now the Skins are interested in either Gus Frerotte or Tony Banks.

(( Bruce Smith is now in his 17th season in the National Football League. During that time the Tech hall of famer has seen it all, and some of what he's seen he would just as soon forget.
Last season Bruce was just one piece of a high prized menagerie of NFL stars who were supposed to take the Skins to the playoffs and instead ended up in the pits.
For that reason Bruce won't give up on this season after one meaningless preseason game.
