More help is on its way. The National Guard is gearing up in Oregon to help firefighters already in the field.
Nowadays you will not be on the fireline without a fire shelter. So

On Thursday the Guardsmen went back to class to brush up on their skills. A national fire control agency placed the West at a Level Five alert status ..which means firefighters in these ten states were in danger of running out of manpower and equipment.
