A Dublin man is dead from a gunshot wound. Pulaski County deputies responded to a 9-1-1 call on Ingles Ferry Road shortly before 5 this evening and found 22 year old Cary Madison Bragg dead. Witnesses said several people were target practicing at the time of the shooting. Deputies have charged Victor Leroy Brown with second degree murder.

Brown is being held at the Regional Jail in Dublin. The investigation is continuing.[Power-Line]

A Buchanan County judge has reversed his own earlier ruling and will allow the evidence to remain in a lab in California for now.
The Buchanan County coal miner was put to death eight years ago for the rape and murder of his sister-in-law. The judge issued a new ruling this week following a request from four newspapers and a group in New Jersey. They asked that the evidence remain safely frozen while they appealed his decision not to allow new tests to the Virginia Supreme Court.

It was all part of the area's annual eradication drug sweep.
The Patrick County Sheriff says they've now found nearly 17- hundred plants all with a street value of nearly a half million dollars.

Hundreds of riders took part in the second annual "Hogs for Dogs" fundraiser to benefit the Saint Francis of Assisi Service Dog Foundation.
Each Biker paid a ten dollar entry free to ride around the city for several hours.
The foundation will now use the money to help train dogs for people who are physically and emotional disabled.

Garland Conner says he was fired because of his disability.
He lost his right hand in a hunting accident when he was 16.
After two days on the job as a courier-company driver for Willcar, he says he was fired.
With the help of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Conner is suing for compensation and punitive damages.

After scoring on a screen pass that was called back, Virginia's Antowine Womack injured his ankle and was through for the day.
A Virginia turnover set up this T-D. Wisconsin's Jerome Pettis takes the handoff and cut's it out side for the 16 yard T-D run and the Badgers led 10 to 3 at the half.
The Cavaliers would get on the board in the third quarter. Bryson Spinner gets the ball on the flea flicker and throws the 45 yard pass and Billy McMullen goes up over 2 defenders to make the T-D catch to make it 13-10.

Dale Jarrett right in the middle of the points race makes a move to take over the fourth spot.
Points leader Jeff Gordon passed Rusty for the lead after 220 laps of the race.
Tony Stewart was the leader with 50 laps to go and he takes the checkered flag winning the Sharpie 500 in Bristol.
