Aaliyah and her crew were supposed top fly back to Miami on this plane...the same one they flew in on. But the pilot says Aaliyah's crew was in a rush and wanted to leave one day early. Lawrence: So instead of catching that original flight on Sunday, the crew chartered another plane back to Miami....the Cessna that never made it out of the Bahamas. Witnesses say the plane crashed just after takeoff, about two hundred feet from the runway. The impact cracked the plane in two and ejected nearly all the passengers. Then the plane burst into flame. The 22 year old singer already had a platinum album and Grammy nominations. But Aaliyah was ready to branch out.
