Senator Steve Newman helped push through legislation that funded both the medevac chopper and an 18- member flight crew.

The nationwide manhunt is over.
Police in Citrus Heights, California announced within the last half hour that they've caught fugitive Nikolay Soltys. He's accused of killing six family members.
The Ukrainian immigrant dropped from sight more than a week ago.

A freight train loaded with hazardous materials derails in rural Kansas, sparking an intense chemical fire.

Officials evacuated about 100 people when the blaze broke out just after midnight in an area south of Wichita.
The fire chief says between 30 and 40 cars were involved, some of the cars contained hazardous materials.
Authorities say the train apparently hit some equipment sitting on the tracks
No injuries have been reported.
Until it's determined exactly what ignited the fire, officials plan to let the blaze burn itself out.
