American Furniture is also handing out pink slips.
120 workers at its plants in Martinsville and Chilhowie are going.
Officials with American blamed the layoffs on the slump in the lodging industry-- it makes furniture for hotels, motels, nursing homes and the federal government.

It's called "Art on a Mission." And it's located inside Tanglewood Mall.
The Roanoke Rescue Mission opened the store as way to raise money for a Health Center for the homeless.
The gallery features the work of both local and national artists -- along with antiques and other collectibles.
The store officially opens tomorrow morning at 10. (------------)
