A man was seriously injured in an accident in Pearisburg early this morning. Authorities say the driver, 40-year old Johnson Hickenbottom Junior of Christiansburg, was traveling on Narrows Road at Newberry Ford around 4 o'clock.
He rounded the curve on the wrong side of the road ... ran off the right shoulder ... went airborne, crashed through a trailer, then went another one-hundred feet before stopping. Two people were in the trailer, but neither person was injured.
Hickenbottom sustained serious injuries and was taken to the hospital. One of his passengers was treated and released. The other was not injured. Authorities say alcohol and speed contributed to the accident.
