That's true.
Democrat Mark Warner's the one who soaked his shirt through by the end of the parade route.
He's also the one with his own song.
[sot T1 17:09:02]

((HERE COMES MARK WARNER, THE HERO OF THE HILLS.04 WARNER, PUBLIC EDUCATION, WARNER, WHAT A REPUTATION, RUNNING IN THIS ELECTION TO KEEP OUR CHILDREN HOME.))

((MARK EARLEY: HI I'M MARK EARLEY. I'M RUNNING FOR GOVERNOR. GOOD TO MEET YOU.))

The Democrats a few spaces down were less impressed -- favoring Warner instead.

So Mark Earley launched a volley of Republican accomplishments over the last eight years -- and a volley of quotes from Mark Warner that were critical at the time.
The attack goes hand in hand with an absolutely seething negative Republican mail and radio campaign.

An early morning accident in Pearisburg sent one man to the hospital with serious injuries this morning. Authorities say the driver, 40-year old Johnson Hickenbottom Junior of Christiansburg, was traveling on Narrows Road at Newberry Ford around 4 o'clock.
He rounded the curve on the wrong side of the road ... ran off the right shoulder ... went airborne, crashed through a trailer, then went another one-hundred feet before stopping. Two people were in the trailer, but neither person was injured.
Hickenbottom sustained serious injuries and was taken to the hospital. One of his passengers was treated and released. The other was not injured. Authorities say alcohol and speed contributed to the accident.

Authorities say the victim reported sitting in his car when two men approached him. One of the suspects pulled a gun and demanded money. Police are investigating both incidents.
