Pilots with Air Lifeline have already started transporting nurses to disaster areas.

Nauss says it's hard not find someone touched by this tragedy. He knows five people who were inside the World Trade Center. He's says knowing he can help brings a sense of fulfillment.

Another plane crash today involving Americans.

A small plane carrying University of Washington Football fans has crashed in Mexico.
The plane was on a sightseeing tirp.
The group was on a trip that was supposed to end with the "U-W Miami" game in Florida.
All 16 people aboard were killed.

The state Attorney General's office is investigating reports of price gouging at the gas pumps. So far a special hotline has received about 90 phone calls from people complaining about the price of gas.
The highest price reported to the Attorney General was three dollars and 25 cents a gallon reportedly being charged by a Botetourt County store. That county's prosecutor has been told to investigate the allegation.

A fire in Roanoke caused extensive damage to a building this afternoon.

The fire broke out just after 3:30 at this home in the 1800 block of Chapman Avenue.
Firefighers arrived to find heavy smoke and flames coming from the second floor and attic.
The fire proved difficult to fight because of nearby trees and the flames got into the walls.
No word on what caused the fire.
Roanoke's Fire Chief believes the building was abandoned.

The NFL, which was harshly criticized for playing three days after the assassination of President Kennedy, has decided NOT to play any of its games this weekend.

In an unprecedented move, NASCAR has done an about face and decided not to race this weekend at New Hampshire and Roanoke, Texas. This is the first time in its 53 year history that NASCAR has canceled anything for reason out than natural phenomenon like rain, snow, or wildfires. The New Hampshire race will now be the season finale on Friday November 23rd.

Major League baseball which has been off the field since Tuesday night has reportedly decided to cancel all of its games through the weekend.

The Roanoke Express has signed center Mike Peron for another year, according to head coach Perry Florio.
