Some people would like Roanoke to show its patriotism by turning the Mill Mountain Star red, white and blue.
But city officials say that's just not possible right now.
(------------)
[VO-NAT]
[SUPER=03-Roanoke;]
The star has changed colors many times.
It became red during the Challenger disaster in 1986.
And it has celebrated Roanoke's All-American City awards with the colors of Old Glory.
But the city removed those special tubes, so it now takes more than a flip of a switch to change the color of the Mill Mountain Star.
