Meanwhile, President Bush addressed congress and the entire nation last night, laying out his plans to stamp out terrorism.
His address came nine days after the series of suicide hijackings that are now believed to have killed more than six- thousand people.
The President issued an ultimatum for the rulers of Afghanistan to turn over prime suspect Osama bin Laden and his supporters, or risk military retaliation.
Defense officials say this war will be like no other-- and it could take as long as several years.

Sot: President George W. Bush
``Either you are with us, or you are with the terrorists.''
In a stirring address to a joint session of Congress and the American
people, President Bush set the nation on a course to try and end global
terrorism. Speaking before an audience that included members of the New
York City Police and Fire Departments, the President said it would be a
war unlike any in history.
SOT: President George W. Bush
``It may include dramatic strikes, visible on television, and covert
operations, secret even in success.''
...the war, he warned will be long and against an enemy that numbers in
the thousands-- and lives in more than sixty countries. The evidence, the
commander in chief said-- points to organizations known as al-Qaida and
its leader Osama Bin Laden. He had this no-holds barred warning for the
Taliban leadership of Afghanistan.
Sot: President George W. Bush
Deliver to the united states authorities all leaders of al-qaida who
hide in your land.
To help coordinate security here at home, the President announced the
creation of a new cabinet-level post: to be fronted by Pennsylvania
Governor Tom Ridge.
