The federal indictment unsealed this morning says Traci Elaine Upshur bought a .45-caliber pistol for her husband, because he's a convicted felon and would not be allowed to buy a gun.

Rockbridge County authorities say a 14-year-old boy told them that he and his 21-year-old boyfriend had a sexual encounter with another man in a trailer.
They'd met that man in an Internet chat room.
Officials searched (peer-pay-OH-lee's) Pierpaoli's home and office computers two weeks ago as part of their investigation.
The county prosecutor says the professor is not in Virginia at the moment; officials are trying to contact him.

The Blue Ridge district is gaining some new additions for the 2002-2003 school year.
The Virginia High School League's executive committee yesterday voted to welcome Cave Spring and the new Hidden Valley High School Titans into the district.

That means the Blue Ridge will have 11 members, and possibly could play in that congested format.
However, the chairman of the district, Lord Botetourt principal Alan Brenner, says a four- school committee has been formed to study what to do about the overcrowding.
Principals and athletic directors from Christiansburg, Alleghany, Northside and Pulaski will explore their options and hopefully, have a solution by the end of the winter.

Hidden Valley principal Dave Blevins told us he is relieved that his new school has cleared this major hurdle, and is now officially recognized by the VHSL.
