The politicians said they wanted to prove it's safe to fly out of Reagan National.

Gilmore described it as the symbolic reopening of America.

This time federal regulators are recalling more than three and a half million Wilderness A-T tires.

The tires in question were made BEFORE 19-98 and used as original equipment on Ford models or sold as replacement tires for other S-U-V brands.
Many of the tires have already been replaced by the owners or as part of a replacement plan announced in May by Ford... but Firestone says more than 750-thousand may still be on the road.
Bridgestone-Firestone's C-E-O says the company does not agree with regulators because its tests found the tires perform well.
But he says it is in the company's best interest to replace the tires.

Now the company may finally be firing up.

Again last night the Astros refused to pitch to him - here walking Bonds in the 6th even thought the Astros were down by 6 runs. This 454 foot upper deck shot in the 9th gave Bonds his 70th homer of the season to tie him with McGwire. He has three more to try and top him - all against the Dodgers.

Also last night, Ricky Henderson broke a 73-year-old baseball mark by scoring his two-thousandth-246th run. The San Diego outfielder broke Ty Cobb's record and did so with a homerun.

Tonight Fleming picked up a hard fought 8 point win over Salem. The Colonels got out of the blocks in a hurry as Olivia Grant cleans up the Anisa Rasheed miss and and knocks in the quick shot from inside. Salem comes right back as Jessica Bass lobs it in over the crowd to Fallon Fant, who drives and scores for the Spartans. Rasheed would keep rolling for the Colonels as she takes the dish and convert it into a bucket as the Colonels lead hits 8 points. The Spartans would stay close.

Botetourt County's Ashley Plantation and the Botetourt Country Club teamed up today to help improve the swings of youngsters at their clubs.
