The latest scare came in Reno Nevada tonight where officials are investigating a package.
The First test on that package came back positive for Anthrax, but a second test turned out negative. A third test will be done.

Investigators say an NBC staffer opened a piece of mail containing an unidentified white powder late last month. Rudolph Giuliani/New York City Mayor: The test of the powder was negative to anthrax. The skin test was positive. Another suspicious letter went to the New York Times. Both were postmarked St. Petersburg Florida. In Nevada-- experts are testing yet another letter, this one sent to the Microsoft Licensing Office. Jean, Postal officials are stressing you should be cautious but also not to panic.
After all, there has yet to be a confirmed case of using the mail to transmit anthrax or any other biological or chemical weapons.

In fact, the only thing the postal service has seen a lot of are threats and hoaxes, more than sixty so far this year.
At the same time, the postal service realizes people are on edge and have put out a list of things you should look out for.
For one, you should be supicious of mail that has no return address.
You should also look for mail that shows a city or state in the postmark that doesn't match that return address.
And finally, you should be cautious of any mail that has a strange smell or stains.

Governor Jim Gilmore is asking President Bush for almost 3-point-2 BILLION dollars in federal aid for what he describes as "severe and immediate" needs related to terrorism.
Half of that would be to protect Virginia from future attacks.
In the request, Gilmore cites potential terrorist targets unique to Virginia.

Virginia Tech officials are trying to find out who left a fake bomb in a library bathroom yesterday.

Some orphaned seal pups are returned to the sea after a short rehabilitation.

These three pups were rescued by the Marine Animal Lifeline in Cape Elizabeth, Maine. They were treated for wounds and infections, as well as dehydration and malnutrition. As they plumped up, trainers taught the pups to hunt on their own. And with a little TLC, these seal pups were ready to head back out to sea. (------------)
