Governor Jim Gilmore is asking President Bush for almost 3-point-2 BILLION dollars in federal aid for what he describes as "severe and immediate" needs related to terrorism.
Half of that would be to protect Virginia from future attack.
In the request, Gilmore cites potential terrorist targets unique to Virginia.
The 3-point-2 BILLION dollar price tag comes on top of a half BILLION dollar state budget shortfall the Senate Finance Committee had predicted well before September 11th.
