As a young man Mylon (luh-FEV-er) LeFevre found success early when he wrote a gospel song for Elvis Presley.
"Without Him" became a best seller and is in many church hymnals even today. But with his success, LeFevre left the world of gospel music
in which he was raised, and turned to secular performing.
In addition to playing with such stars as Eric Clapton, George Harrison, and Paul McCartney, LeFevre turned to a life of drug abuse.
As he told a congregation in Roanoke yesterday, it almost killed him.
A close call with death led him to rediscover his faith.
