Concern in the nation's capital has closed 10 U-S senate offices, as a precaution.
New tests are confirming the presence of Anthrax in a letter sent to Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle's office yesterday.

The latest case of anthrax at ABC is more mysterious than the others because as of right now no one knows how the deadly bacteria got into the building. What is known is that an ABC producers 7-month old baby visited the building on September 28th and started showing symptoms a day later. While doctors originally diagnosed the childs rash as a spider bite they now say the baby is being treated for skin anthrax.

NAT SOT.

While police try to find the source of anthrax at ABC HAZMAT teams have been dispatched to other television networks in New York including CBS to search for any signs of anthrax in mail rooms.

In Boca Raton, Florida, where one employee at American Media died of anthrax Ernesto Blanco a 73-year-old mail room worker now has the more serious inhaled anthrax. While anthrax can be treated with antibiotics the increasing number of cases has raised questions about a vaccine. Bioport the only company in the country that manufactures the vaccine has not been producing it since 1998 ... because of safety violations. The company President hopes the FDA will allow them to produce the vaccine for the general public.

Another anthrax scare, this one in Appomattox County involving a 78- year- old woman visiting from California.
Authorities say the woman was reading the Sunday paper when a white granular substance fell from the advertisement section onto her lap.
Emergency crews were called to the scene and the material was sent to Richmond for testing.
Preliminary results do "not" indicate any presence of anthrax.
Nine other people were in the residence at the time.

A trial for the two slayings is scheduled for January 14th. The defense says there's a lack of evidence to link the cases as part of the same plot or action. State Finance Secretary John Forbes delivered the bad news yesterday and said the picture is likely to get even worse.
Republican lawmakers who control the car tax's final phase-out say it's already a "dead issue" for the next General Assembly.

No rain yesterday, but plenty of excitement as Elliott Sadler and the Wood Brothers led early in the event.
Sadler finished 17th. Dale Earnhardt Junior started on the outside pole, but was all over the place. He finished 27th. Ricky Rudd ran strong for most of the day and was battling for the lead when he and rookie Kurt Busch tangled in turns one and two on the re-start.
Rudd's right front fender was damaged, but he rolled on. That is until lap 396, when the Havoline Ford lost an engine.
Rudd finished 39th. His departure meant the Yates racing banner would have to be carried by Dale Jarrett, but he had to deal with Bobby Hamilton. But when the 12th and final caution came out, Hamilton, Jarrett and Ricky Craven found themselves behind Kevin Harvick, who elected not to pit.
On old tires, Harvick had trouble keeping pace, and Hamilton tapped him coming out of turn two.
Craven took advantage of the incident and slipped inside them both.
Harvick meanwhile decided to retaliate, and hit Hamilton in turn three.
Harvick was penalized a lap for rough driving. Craven then found himself trying to hold off the spring race winner at Martinsville in Jarrett. The two would duel the final four laps, in one of Martinsville's most memorable finishes.
Craven wins the Old Dominion 500 for his first Cup victory in 174 starts.
