John Potter says he can not guarantee that mail is safe from Anthrax contamination.
Postal officials say use common sense.
Improved safety gloves and masks are being sent to mail workers as the postal service awaits next weeks delivery of its first high tech equipment to sanitize the mail.

The post office was evacuated early Tuesday, after a white powder was found on a processing machine.
Ultimately no anthrax was detected, but workers say they were told the area was safe and were ordered back to work before officials received test results on the substance.

A Postal Service spokeswoman says officials had received negative test results on seven employees, and strong medical assurances there would be no cross-contamination if other machines resumed operation.

The package will be sent to the state crime lab in hopes of figuring out why the dogs thought it was suspicious.

Some New York city kids are using their hands to console hearts....

These students put their hands together to give much more than a round of applause.
They created a giant American flag in remembrance the victims of last month's terrorist attack. The stars and stripes are made up of hundreds of their little handprints. It was unveiled this morning in Central Park and will hang as a back drop at a World Trade Center benefit next month.
