The deaths of two of their coworkers have made postal workers across America a bit more nervous.
Many are taking whatever steps they can to protect their health.

Concern about the safety of postal workers here in New York City started a few days ago when two D.C. workers died from the more serious form of anthrax - inhalation anthrax. And now, some are wondering why the workers here in NYC werent tested sooner.

They let those workers be sacrificial lambs out there!
William Smith, President of the New York Metro Postal Union, is furious. Even though Cipro is now being offered to 7000 of his workers, he says only a few hundred have been tested, and he fears many more could have been exposed to the disease.

We have to hope God is looking out for these employees because the postal service sure didnt do that.
And postal paranoia is not just in New York. 200 employees in Baltimore are now being tested for exposure to anthrax. Workers are complaining of flu-like symptoms in Topeka, Kansas. (NAT - HAWAII) Even in Hawaii, a suspicious piece of mail forced a post office to temporarily shut down.

Workers at the main post office in Roanoke are raising concerns after yesterday's anthrax scare there.

Testing revealed NO traces of anthrax, after a white powder was found on a processing machine.
But postal workers say they were told the area was safe, and were ordered back to work, BEFORE postal officials had received test results on the substance.

Today, a Postal Service spokeswoman spoke. He said that by 3-pm yesterday, officials had received negative test results on seven employees, and strong medical assurances that there would not be any cross-contamination if other machines resumed operation.
Union leaders and postal officials are expected to meet on Thursday morning to talk about the incident and how it was handled.

Chief Mike Rogers says a 17-year-old black male was arrested this morning in connection with the murder of 30-year-old Lisa Muhammad.
The wife and mother of two was shot to death inside her downtown clothing store.

Rogers said the juvenile knew Muhammad and her husband, but he declined to share the motive or other details.
He said he needed to protect an ongoing investigation.

A jury in Miami finds O-J Simpson innocent in a road rage case.

Simpson was accused of reaching into another man's car and grabbing the glasses from his face.
Simpson testified that it was the other man who was the aggressor.
Jurors deliberated for part of the afternoon before clearing Simpson on both charges- just about one hour ago.

If convicted, Simpson could have faced 16 years in prison.
