Some 400- workers were evacuated Tuesday after an employee in the Catawba Capital Management office received a threatening phone call. Police say the caller referred to a bomb and anthrax. When police searched the office-- three police dogs hit on a package delivered by Federal Express. The package turned out to contain empty Fed-Ex envelopes. The package will be sent to the state crime lab in hopes of figuring out why the dogs thought it was suspicious.

The third quarter report showed a 20 million dollar net income drop, but earnings per share matched analyst expectations at 20 cents.
Operating costs dropped five percent, thanks to the railroad's massive restructuring plan, which included hundreds of layoffs in Southwest Virginia.
Analysts say third quarter results are not an accurate performance indicator because of the slowdown September 11th created.
They'll be watching to see how much ground N-S can recover in the fourth quarter.
