A deputy found Jason Hoffman hanging from a vent in his cell.. using a torn bed sheet.
Hoffman was locked in a private cell 23 hours a day- but had been moved out of what's called a safe cell- after a doctor's evaluation.
Hoffman admitted shooting three students and two teachers at Granite High School in El Cajon.
He could have faced 24 years in prison.

Project Lifesaver is a radio transmitter device for finding missing people quickly. It uses a wristband to track lost Alzheimer's, autism and brain injury patients. Participants wear the band 24-hours a day and if they wander, authorities use an antennae to pick up their signal and location. The device has an average rescue time of 22-minutes. Within two-years, it has helped find 56-people across the Commonwealth.

Virginia Tech tumbled hard in the latest BCS Standings that are out tonight. The Hokies fall all the way to 15th this week. Nebraska is the new number one. However, we are not without controversy. Despite losing to the Huskers Oklahoma is still number two ahead of unbeaten Miami.
The difference is that strength of schedule factor. The Sooners is rated 9th toughest, Miami's is rated 76th. Stanford has jumped all the way up to 6th in the new BCS poll.

Lee Hi Bowling Lanes in Salem were taken over tonight as the Express players and coaches showed up a couple of nights early in their Halloween Costumes. Head coach Perry Florio showed up dressed as a jockey while his assistant Mark Bernard was a race horse. But not one costume from the vast array on display could top the US Olympic women's gymnastic team led by center Mike Peron.
