Turnout in the 7th, including Radford and parts of Montgomery and Pulaski County is being described by officials as steady. Democrat Jim Shuler's office says, he too, is jumping from poll to poll. After serving the 12-district for eight years as a delegate, his campaign to stay in Richmond means reaching a new constituency. Nats TC
Montgomery County officials say a high number of absentee ballots were received this year, and may mean a higher turnout at the polls.
