The polls have been open for a couple of hours now and the Roanoke County registrar is predicting a decent voter turnout there.

Here are some things you need to know about voting today.
First, the polls open at six a-m and will stay open until 7 p-m.
About identification -- you can present your voter card, or some other form of identification OR you have the option to sign your name on a form affirming who you are.

Roanoke County Supervisor Harry Nickens is a finalist for a college post in Alabama.
Yesterday, his opponent in the Vinton District said it should be an issue in the election.

Nickens is the president of the College of Health Sciences in Roanoke. And he is one of three finalists for the presidency of Trenholm State Technical College in Montgomery.
Yesterday, Mike Altizer said Nickens should have informed constituents.
