Attorney General -elect Jerry Kilgore named a transition team.
And Governor Jim Gilmore congratulated Mark Warner on a masterful effort that Gilmore reads as "personal victory," not a partisan mandate.
He also reminded reporters in an afternoon conference call that Republicans picked up 12 seats in the House yesterday.

Zookeepers in San Diego gave the Bornean and Sumatran orangutans frozen juice popsicles, laced with the nectar of, apples, oranges, grapes and strawberries.
The tasty snacks are part of the sixth annual International Orangutan Awareness Week.
The zoo is hosting a variety of events this week .. to bring attention to primates and the way they survive in captivity and the wild.
