Firefighters are still in action tonight....trying to put out a massive forest fire on Bent Mountain in Roanoke County.
The fire caused extensive damage along Poage's Valley Road off Route 221.
At this hour, the majority of the blaze is contained.

It hasn't been this dry in nearly twenty years.
The extremely dry conditions and high winds allowed this fire on Bent Mountain to consume nearly two hundred acres of land.
Fire officials don't know what caused it but say it probably didnt take much.

Firefighters pulled a man from a burning home in Roanoke tonight.

Another man was treated at the hospital for smoke inhalation.

Today the FBI released a psychological profile based on those letters.
Experts conclude the sender is most likely an adult male.... most probably a loner with scientific ability and few people skills.
They also don't think he picked his victims randomly.
Letters were addressed to Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle, the editor of the New York Post and NBC Anchorman Tom Brokaw.

4-million lights and figurines are glowing to mark the beginning of the Winter Tourist Season.
