The old Connecticut Natural Gas Building in Hartford was brought down shortly before seven o'clock this morning.... In all it took about 12 seconds to collapse. Officials say the implosion went smoothly, except for the wind. Contractors used about 150 pounds of explosives that were detonated at about 270 locations within the building. The building was imploded to make way for a new convention center.

Mining and timbering played contributing roles in some of last summer's devastating floods in West Virginia.

That's the conclusion of a hydro-geologist hired by the Fayette County Commission to assess possible causes behind the flooding that devastated that area as well as others in southern West Virginia. The hydro-geologist concluded that timbering and mining disturbances to watersheds contributed to... but did NOT necessarily cause flood damage. The finding was based on hikes, aerial fly-overs and photography.

More than 80 vendors sold or swapped airplanes, kits, and other electronics.
The show featured a flight simulator where you could see for yourself what it's like to fly an airplane.

The Roanoke Dazzle played its first preseason game last night at the Roanoke Civic Center hosting the Greenville Groove.

The Groove answers Tom Wideman with the double pump misses the shot and Raheem Lockhart goes up strong for the put back.
Roanoke's Marshall Phillips passes to Artie Griffin he hits the running jumper as the Dazzle maintained the lead.
