Bobby Burrell, the front tire changer for Ricky Rudd's team, who was injured Sunday in a pit road accident is still in the Neuro Intensive Care unit at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami this morning, but there is reason for optimism.
Burrell, who is native of Alleghany County and former football player at Alleghany high school is conscious and he is able to talk with family members.
His mom and dad flew to Miami to be with their 30 years old son, who suffered a head injury Sunday.

Ichiro Suzuki and Albert Pujols are baseball's Rookies of the Year for the just completed season.

Suzuki is the second straight Japanese player to win the American League Rookie of the Year award. He joined the Seattle Mariners after nine seasons in the Japanese Pacific League and won a batting title with a .350 average to go with 56 stolen bases.
Pujols is an unanimous choice of the 28 voting members of the Baseball Writers Association of America for the National League honor. The 21-year-old set an N-L rookie record with 130 R-B-Is. He led the Cardinals with a .329 average, 37 homers and 112 runs.
