Meanwhile the FAA is ordering mandatory inspecitons of the tails of all Airbus A-300's flying in the United States.

Sources say investigators are concerned that the tail fin on flight 587 may have broken off as a result of structural weakness caused by pre-existing damage never detected by inpsectors.
That combined with wake turbulence may have been enough to break off the tail fin.

Police say damage to Doctor T-P Davis's office was caused by 80-year Eula Sowers. They say Sowers pulled into the parking lot when her foot slipped onto the accelerator. Her car hit a parked vehicle then went through the building, into the lobby where it struck a patient. That woman, Mildred Farmer of Riner, was pinned under the vehicle and suffered multiple leg fractures. The passenger of the parked vehicle was taken to a hospital for minor injuries.

(( It's been 12 weeks, three long months since Womack suffered a high ankle sprain against Wisconsin. His senior season consists of a grand total of 74 yards rushing. But this Saturday he will be as well as he has been since before the injury. Rest assured - the Tech defenders will be on high alert when number one is in the game. Yankee Pitcher Roger Clemens is the American League Cy Young award winner.

The Yankee Righthander got 21 of 28 first place votes for the American league honor.
Clemens, who went 20 and 3 with a 3 point 51 earned run average and 213 strikeouts, is the only pitcher to win more than 4 Cy Youngs. He received 5 second place votes and 2 thirds for 122 points from the baseball Writers Association of America.

Ferrum's Kelvin Fuller is the Dixie Conference Defensive Player of the week. Fuller, a junior from Norfolk, had 3 solo tackles and 10 assists for a total of 13 against Christopher Newport in the Oyster Bowl.

And V-M-I head men's soccer coach Stephen Ross is the Southern Conference Coach of The Year.
He led the Keydets to a 3 and 4 record in the conference and a 6-10 and 1 overall record.
