This morning's fire at Pulaski Furniture will force the plant to shut down this week.

Firefighters arrived just before 5:30 in downtown Pulaski to find flames shooting from the roof. Investigators believe the fire started from a spark in the dust bin system. Right now, damages estimates top 200- thousand dollars. Company officials say the incident will require the manufacturing plants at the Pulaski complex to be closed for the upcoming week.
However, office and salaried personnel are asked to report to work.

One fire in the George Washington and Jefferson National Forest that started yesterday has, so far, consumed nearly 130 acres. It's burning in Montgomery County in the Craig's Creek area, close to the Applachian Trail. The fire is partially contained but is not completely under a control. Firefighters believe someone deliberately set this fire.

The fire broke out just before three o'clock this afternoon on Little Mountain.
It's burning in the Low Moor area, just east of Covington and a mile south of I-64.
The fire has consumed more than 2 acres so far, and is contained.
