Arson may be behind a forest fire that's burning in Montgomery County - according to officials.

[take graphic] The blaze has consumed more than 130 acres in the George Washington and Jefferson National Forest and right now is mostly contained. It's burning in the Craig's Creek area... close to the Appalachian Trail. Crews with the George Washington and Jefferson National Forest are handling the overall management of the fire... with some helicopter support...

Several New York City firefighters peddled their way into Roanoke County yesterday.

They're riding from coast to coast to say thanks to everyone who gave their support after the September 11th attacks.

Along the way, they plan to stop at more than 100 fire departments across the country.

The New York firefighters spent the night at the Read Mountain Firehouse and plan to hit the road this morning.
They plan to wrap up the "Cycle Across America" tour in Los Angeles sometime in mid-December.

The dachshunds had a hard time getting out of the starting gates at the Wiener Schnitzel Wiener Nationals in San Diego.
FINALLY, one good dog managed to cross the finish line.
But most of his competitors took their time sniffing rather than running.
One lucky pooch will be named fastest wiener dog in the nation, complete with a trip to a doggie spa, one-thousand dollars and a year's supply of dog food.

Firefighers are working to contain a fire at the Pulaski Furniture Plant off of Route 11 in downtown Pulaski.

The fire's been burning in plant number 1 since about 5:30 this morning. No word yet on what started it. Witnesses say firefighters have blocked off streets around the plant. The fire appears to be contained at this time. The President and Vice President of the company are expected to release more information about the fire and what it means for the company in a few minutes. We have a crew on the scene and will have more details as they become available.

A group of local students is finding out first hand what it's like to be homeless.

About two dozen students took part in the "Night Without a Home" sleep out event in Roanoke.
The event attempted to give youths a glimpse of the struggles homeless people face each day. The students converted cardboard boxes into shelter for most of the night.
