After months of argument in city council meetings and the courtroom, a Covington landmark is coming down.

This week workers started removing the roof from the Old City Hall Building. Next, the building will be gutted, and the walls will be torn down. The demolition follows months of battles between preservationists and members of Covington City Council. Earlier this month the group "Friends of Old City Hall" failed in a bid to obtain a permanent injunction barring the demolition. Officials say the demolition will take between four to 6 weeks.

(( There were hugs throughout the Cave Spring high school gymnasium as head coach Billy Hicks told his players for the first time that he had decided to stay in coaching. Hicks had planned to exit the roundball arena after this season and move directly into athletic administration. He recently had a change of heart. ((BILLY HICKS:)) While Hicks is staying put at Cave Spring, his top assistant and jayvee coach Chris Morris will move over to the new Hidden Valley high to teach english and basketball as the varsity head coach starting next year. Robinson is a movie fanatic. ((NAT SOUND:)) On game day he's been known to take in a triple header and he goes to the movies two to three times a week. ((JIM ROBINSON:)) His players are quite aware of his obsession with the big screen, in fact, the relaxed, calm feeling he gets from movies comes in handy in pre game. ((:)) ((:)) ((NAT SOUND))
If he can't find a movie, Coach Rob breaks out his hammered Dulcimer to calm his nerves. The 52 year old has been playing the instrument for three years. ((:))
Robinson knows a hundred songs and played at his youngest daughters wedding. He is self taught and can often be found playing at open mics. ((:)) Now lets take a look at the Hometown Hoops Weekly state final four match ups for this Friday at the Salem Civic center.))
