Danville police are looking for two suspects in an incident where an man was shot in the face.
18 year old Montae (mon-TAY) Deshaun Jackson was wounded following a disagreement on the two-hundred block of Stuart Street this morning.
Jackson has been taken to U-V-A Medical center for surgery.
The investigation is continuing.
Governor Jim Gilmore says the state budget he presents to the General Assembly on Wednesday will give state employees a two percent pay raise next year.
Also, the Richmond Times Dispatch is reporting that Gilmore will propose to advance the car tax cut from 70 percent to 100 percent in two years, despite a budget deficit nearing a billion dollars. The tax cut was supposed to be fully implemented next year, but Gilmore has already said that won't be possible
because of the state's budget woes.
Gilmore leaves office on January 12th. Governor-elect Mark Warner has promised to eliminate the tax before his four-year term ends.

The Marines stormed the Roanoke Valley this weekend for a good cause.
The group held its annual "Toy Storm 2001" fundraiser to benefit the Toys for Tots program.
The Marines collected new unwrapped toys for 72 hours straight at the Tanglewood Mall from Friday to Sunday afternoon.
The final tally consisted of nearly five thousand toys.

The toys will be distributed to needy kids throughout the Roanoke Valley by the Community Christmas Store and the Salvation Army.
Altogether, the Marines hope to collect more than thirty thousand toys this holiday season.
The Roanoke Valley's Community Christmas store wrapped up another successful holiday season.
The store helped nearly six hundred needy families in the Roanoke Valley this year, a record for the charity.
Each eligible family got the chance to shop for all new items such as toys, clothing, food, and other gifts.
The store was opened Friday and Saturday in the old CVS building at Cave Spring Corners.
This will be the last year the Community Christmas Store operates from that building.
A new location has yet to be found.
A holiday tradition returned to Roanoke this weekend to rave reviews.
Hundreds of Jefferson High School alumni came out for a revival of a popular Christmas play.
As Justin McLeod discovered its a story that hasn't seen the stage in more than thirty years.

The Roanoke Symphony held its annual holiday pops concert this afternoon at the Civic Center Auditorium.
This year's performance included the Southwest Virginia Ballet and the Roanoke College Children's Choir.

and also it's a move many people were waiting for. Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat calls for an end to attacks against Israel.
Some students and faculty have been told that their names were found on a hit list at a Massachusetts school.
Officials are investigating the origin of the list which was found in the boys bathroom.
An open letter was sent out to all parents warning them of a plan to open fire at the Catholic school.

Tiger Woods won the Williams World Challenge, the final event of the year and he donated the Million dollar prize money to his foundation.
